Hi ! I am a Swiss-American author-illustrator and designer with over 25 years of experience in children’s books, hand-drawn illustrations, and patterns. I have illustrated more than 30 books for children and my artwork has been published in books and magazines in the US and Europe.
My work is known for diverse, engaging characters, loving attention to detail, and a joyful color palette. I mostly use watercolor, gouache and colored pencils to create detailed illustrations with friendly characters, soft shapes and luminous color.
My work is informed and inspired by my Swiss childhood, folk art, fairy tales, travels, vintage children’s books and ephemera, dreams of the ocean, and a love of nature and time-worn surfaces.
Today I live in South Carolina and spend my free time looking over fences and under mushrooms.
